TLHD's Pathway to the Future: A Comprehensive Planning Framework
We're looking forward to the future with optimism and a clear plan in place. We have designed a structured pathway with guideposts to help us discover what lies ahead. Our plan consists of four phases: establishing a strategic intent and shared vision, master planning, fundraising, and implementation. Through these four phases, TLHD will have a comprehensive planning framework that will lead the organization towards a successful future.
Phase 1: Strategic Intent and Shared Vision. Summer / Fall 2023.
The TLHD board and staff commit to developing a plan for strategic growth that creates a shared vision and strategic intent for the organization. The plan will include a set of values, guiding principles, and priorities to inform long-term development. This focus of Phase 1 is PROGRAMMING. We will seek input from many segments of our community, patrons, donors, and theatre professionals. Our team of independent consultants will guide the visioning process, seeking input and feedback from all corners of our community to ensure that our plan is comprehensive and representative of all voices. At TLHD, we recognize the importance of inclusivity and diversity, and we are committed to taking deliberate action steps to ensure that our plan reflects these values. Upon completion, the plan will be communicated to all stakeholders.
Target completion: Fall 2023
Phase 2: Master Plan for Facilities
The next step will be to develop a master plan for facilities based on the vision, values, and priorities identified in the strategic growth plan. In other words - Phase 2 will determine the facilities plan needed to support the programming. This master plan, including programming, financial management, site and property, and facilities, will specify new and renewed facilities needed to support implement the programming vision. It will include projected costs for facilities, a timeline for construction projects, and information on the general contractor selected to manage construction.
Target completion: Winter 2024/25
Phase 3: Fundraising Campaign
Once the master plan is complete a fundraising effort will be initiated to generate the financial resources needed to complete the projects contained in the plan. This campaign will aim to secure the necessary funds from donors, sponsors, and other stakeholders to enable the successful implementation of the master plan.

Phase 4: Implementation Period
Finally, an implementation period will be established to invest the revenue generated from fundraising into the master plan.

Each phase of the planning will involve third-party experts to guide the board and staff to successful completion.
