House Manager - Part Time - Opening

Theatre L’Homme Dieu is seeking a part time house manager. The house manager takes control over the theatre lobby and house and works directly with the audience services manager and show stage manager. Care of the theatre lobby and house, organizing programs, collecting tickets, light cleaning of lobby and house, and creating nightly front of house reports. The house manager is also our volunteer coordinator for each event.

The House Manager is responsible for the following on performance days:

Lobby:

  • Programs: counting, checking that they are ready and we have enough,

  • Tickets: collecting, counting, organizing

  • Basic cleaning: taking out garbage, wiping down counter and vanity in bathrooms, basic sweeping, etc.

House:

  • Seating patrons, helping ushers to seat patrons

  • Working with the stage manager to let them know when to start the show

  • Basic cleaning: basic sweeping of the house, picking up and articles left behind by patrons, etc.

Volunteers:

  • Training new volunteers

  • Coordinating volunteers for the night


The House Manager is expected to politely interact with the audience and, at times, remind the audience of house rules (such as photography, tobacco use, etc.).  The House Manager completes nightly reports and checklists.

The House manager reports to the Audience Services Manager and/or the Executive Director.

Hours: Show days 6:00pm-9:30/10:00pm (when the audience has left the theatre for the night). For matinee shows the hours would be 12-3:30/4:00pm (when the audience has left)
