Community Input: August Survey & Discussions - Thank you!
Thank you to all who participated by completing the online survey. (August 2023)
Thank you to hundreds of people who contributed their precious time and energy to provide input in Theatre L’Homme Dieu’s vision for strategic growth. This vision, created through a collaborative process, will inform our long-term master planning and will assist in creating a roadmap for better serving our community.
There were 4 different surveys for different stakeholders, including:
Patrons
Performers
Board members
Staff members
Questions were about:
Viability and Sustainability
TLHD’s Role in the Region
Partnerships and Community Engagement
Future Programming
All survey responses are anonymous and will be compiled by our consulting team from Propel Nonprofits and then shared with Theatre L'Homme Dieu. Drawing from this information and other data collected, our planning team and the theatre board will work through the Fall to arrive at a strategic intent and shared vision for TLHD that will guide our long-term master plan, including programming, financial management, site and property, and facilities. At this time we don’t yet have the results of the surveys. Please continue to check our website for ongoing updates and thank you for your time and support of Theatre L’Homme Dieu!
Community Leaders In-Person Listening Sessions - (August 2023)
On August 24, 2023, some community & business leaders in the Alexandria area were invited to one of two sessions at TLHD to share their thoughts about TLHD’s current and potential future in the community’s ecosystem. There was an optional tour of the TLHD campus ahead of the discussions, and most of the attendees opted in for a walk around the perimeter of our 22 acre campus, and a tour of the white buildings where actors stay while in Alexandria.
Then, discussions were led by the consultants from Propel Nonprofits.
There were 3 topic prompts used for small and large group discussions:
What makes TLHD unique?
TLHD is working toward upgrading facilities and grounds that may allow for year-round activities besides theaters and concerts. Is year-round programming a good idea, or should we remain a summer-only venue?
What types of programs or activities would you like to see at TLHD in the future?
Propel Nonprofits staff took copious notes that will be compiled and then shared with Theatre L'Homme Dieu. Drawing from this information and other data collected, our planning team and the theatre board will work through the Fall to arrive at a strategic intent and shared vision for TLHD that will guide our long-term master plan, including programming, financial management, site and property, and facilities. At this time we don’t yet have the compilation of notes from these sessions. Please continue to check our website for ongoing updates and thank you for your time and support of Theatre L’Homme Dieu!
